A wildfire at the Tweedsmuir South Provincial Park has burned 5400 hectares since it was discovered on July 8, 2017.
However, this fire is not near the Lakes District – it’s located 52 km east of Bella Coola.
According to the B.C .Wildifre Service, no significant changes are expected over the next two days. The outlook is for warm, dry and smoky conditions at the fire site.
There are multiple cabins and heritage sites in the area that could be affected and an evacuation order is in effect for the area. The order can be viewed at the Central Coast Regional District website, www.ccrd-bc.ca.
This fire was caused by lightning.
