Another wildfire broke out in the Mission area.

According to the BC Wildfire Service website, a 0.009 hectare fire was burning by Norrish Creek, three kilometres east of Norrish Creek Forest Service Road.

A team of three firefighters were dispatched by helicopter on Monday morning and managed to douse the blaze before it grew in size.

The area is currently being patrolled to ensure no hot spots flare up.

While an investigation has yet to be completed, the website indicates the fire was likely caused by a person, rather than naturally.
