Fire chief gets kudos from Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia

Darrell Blades recognized for outstanding work as Zone 4 director

100 Mile House Fire-Rescue fire chief Darrel Blades has received praise and thanks from the Fire Chiefs’ Association of British Columbia (FCABC) for his contributions to the association.

In a recent letter to District of 100 Mile House Mayor Mitch Campsall, FCABC president Timothy Pley states his “sincere appreciation” for Blade’s efforts.

“[Blades’] work as a Zone 5 director of the association has bettered the fire service in B.C., and we are delighted to have him continue in the role. We are appreciative of the dedication and leadership he brings to the members of Zone 5.”

Pley adds the FCABC thanks Blades for contributing his valuable time to aid the association’s success.

Campsall says he is “not surprised” to see the complimentary remarks made about Blades, given his current and past performance for the district.

“[In] knowing Darrell [Blades] and the way he works, his attitude toward doing well above and beyond what he needs to do … he is just a phenomenal employee.”

The mayor adds the District will sometimes get verbal or e-mailed compliments about its employees, but a letter like this is more uncommon.
