The lone female occupant of a minivan escaped just before flames engulfed the vehicle on South Main Street Thursday morning.
Penticton firefighters attempt to put out a fire in a minivan in the 3100-block of South Main Street just before 8 a.m. Thursday. Penticton Fire Chief Wayne Williams said the lone female occupant of the vehicle safely managed to escape before it became fully engulfed in flames. The woman is believed to be from Oliver on her way to work in Penticton at the time of the fire. Cause is thought to be mechanical in nature and damage was extensive.
