Fire strikes a Langley farm

A greenhouse site suffered a small fire Monday morning.

No one was injured Monday morning at a fire on a South Langley farm.

Two Langley Township firehalls were called to the small fire in the 22700 block of 24th Avenue just before 9 a.m.

The fire broke out in a pile of boarding material near some greenhouses, said assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson.

When the first crew arrived a significant amount of smoke and flame was visible, but the flames were quickly knocked down.

It wasn’t immediately clear what had caused the fire.
