A young girl trapped in a tree by a family of aggressive raccoons was rescued by firefighters on Friday afternoon
At shortly after 4 p.m., the Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service responded to a report of a youth stuck in a tree at 32920 Mill Lake Rd.
Fire crews arrived to find a 12-year-old girl was trapped in a tree about three metres from the ground, accompanied by a family of raccoons. The girl was frightened because every time she attempted to climb down from the tree, the raccoons would hiss and growl at her.
The AFRS crew members put a ladder against the tree, sending the raccoons scurrying up higher, and firefighters were then able to help the girl climb down safely. She was not injured.
