Five firefighters are battling a 1.5-hectare wildfire sparked by lightning near the southern end of Lakelse Lake, about 19 kilometres southwest of Terrace, said the government in a release June 16.
This fire is located in steep, rocky terrain that may challenge firefighting efforts, said the release.
No structures or property are threatened at this time, but smoke, flames and firefighting aircraft may be visible from cabins along Lakelse Lake, continued the release.
A helicopter is supporting firefighting efforts on the ground, read the release.
