The first ever Binche Keyoh Father’s Day Fishing Derby took place on June 18 – 19.
The event brought in 330 participants from all over the central B.C. interior.
Cynthia Tom, administrative assistant at the Binche Keyoh Society was thrilled with the turnout.
“We would like to thank all who sponsored, volunteered and entered in this year’s derby,” Tom said.
“We look forward to seeing you all next year.”
Tim and Kim Boyes won first place in both the men’s and women’s division.
Tim’s char weighed in at 10 lbs, 12 oz. and Kim’s char weighed in at 13 lbs, 11 oz. which was the second heaviest fish caught that weekend.
The largest catch went to Darcy Rahier from the Binche Leaselots who won first prize in the elders division. His fish weighed in at 17 lbs.
