The first cruise ship of the season arrived at Ogden Point Saturday.
Crystal Symphony, measuring 237 metres in length, arrived from Seattle at around 8 a.m., and left for Vancouver at midnight.
While only two more ships will visit Victoria this month, the schedule ramps up in May and continues to Sept. 26.
In total, 210 cruise ships will visit Victoria this year, bringing at least 420,000 people to the city plus crew, said Rebecca Penz, communications officer with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority. Those numbers are down from last year, when an extra 18 ship visits brought an additional 20,000 passengers to Greater Victoria.
But numbers will likely be back up next year.
Starting in 2012, the Disney line of cruise ships add Victoria to their list of stops. A seven-night Alaska cruise will dock in Victoria en route 14 times over the summer.
