Mayor Kerry Cook received the first Remembrance Day poppy pin from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 139 treasurer Joyce Norberg last week to kick off the legion’s annual fundraiser to help veterans and their families. Norberg says the first poppy of the campaign is always presented to the city mayor. Remember to honour our veterans by participating in the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies on Nov. 11.
