Abbotsford Police found more than they bargained for during a routine traffic stop on Monday night.
After the officers pulled over a 42-year-old Abbotsford man, who was driving a white Mercedes, the police noticed a strong odour of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. There was also a large sum of cash, both on the driver and in the vehicle.
A search of the trunk revealed five Ziploc bags (1,200 grams) of dried marijuana.
The driver has not been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking yet, but is a prohibited driver.
The money and marijuana has been seized and forwarded to civil forfeiture.
The driver, who police say has a drug history, was released with a 24-hour roadside suspension.
