Five-year sentence for stabbing hubby in the back

Christopher Warren, 55, of Campbell River died from a single stab wound to the back

Linda Mitchell has been sentenced to five years in prison for killing her common-law husband.

The 53-year-old Campbell River woman was sentenced Friday in B.C. Supreme Court after a jury found her guilty on the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Mitchell had been charged with second degree murder in the stabbing death of Christopher Warren.

The 55-year-old grandfather died of a single stab wound to the back following an alcohol-fuelled fight with Mitchell in the apartment they shared at 645-9th Ave.

Mitchell’s sentenced will be reduced by just over four months for time already served.
