A fire completely destroyed a house at Horse Lake on Feb. 1.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Lambley Rd. at approximately 7:05 a.m. By the time 100 Mile House Fire Rescue arrived, the house was completely engulfed in flames.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and neighbours said the house had been vacant for some weeks.

The Lone Butte Fire Department assisted the 100 Mile Fire Rescue with water support, as no fire hydrants were available at the location.

Firefighters were on scene for approximately three and a half hours.

Firefighters were able to prevent a nearby shed and vehicles parked beside the building from igniting.
