The Ridge Meadows Flames prevailed in a battle of first-place teams, defeating the Grandview Steelers 4-3 in overtime Sunday in Burnaby.
Alexandre Furlan led the Flames with two goals, including the OT winner, and an assist. Andrew Strelezki had a goal and two assists, while Braedon Fleming earned another win in net.
The Flames are now 8-1, first overall in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
Grandview fell to 5-0-0-3, still first in the Tom Shaw Conference.
The junior B Flames edged the Richmond Sockeyes 2-0 at home Friday.
Bradley Compton scored late in the first period, from Halen Cordoni and Ryan Crosby-Jones, to give the Flames a 1-0 lead.
Jacob Dorey, from Quenton Magnuson and Brendan Black, added an insurance marker late in the third.
Fleming made 33 saves for the shutout. The Flames were outshot 33-24.
