Flyers set on fire at Christina Lake

Grand Forks RCMP received a report of mischief with newspapers being set on fire on April 27.

Grand Forks RCMP received a report from a complainant on Ritchie Road in Christina Lake about mischief with newspapers being set on fire on April 27 at 9:02 a.m.

There were some burnt flyers on the road taken from a blue newspaper box and mailboxes, but no sign of damages to the newspaper boxes.

“We think someone took the flyers out of the blue box and put them on fire,” said Grand Forks RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison. “We’ve had two or three incidents of fires out in the Christina Lake area. All of them very minor in nature but certainly we are concerned about it.”

Harrison will be meeting the Christina Lake’s Citizens on Patrol as they get ready for another season at the Lake.

“Hopefully they can keep their eyes open for any signs of mischief,” he stated.
