Meaghan Cursons of the Cumberland Community Forest Society accepts a cheque for $898. Students in Mrs. Twin's and Meyer's classes at Cumberland Elementary wanted to help raise the $1.2 million needed to purchase 50 hectares prior to scheduled logging in 2016. They made Tree Christmas cards and sold them all over the village.
