There isn’t a provincial election for a year but the B.C. Conservatives are getting ready.
Jim Hart has declared his intention to run for the party’s Vernon-Monashee nomination. More candidates are expected to enter the nomination race over the coming weeks.
“In a riding like this one, with a strong conservative base, the B.C. Conservatives are the only viable alternative to the Liberal train wreck,” said Scott Anderson, an association director.
Hart is a former Okanagan-Coquihalla MP who lives in Vernon now.
The association held a town hall at the Schubert Centre Thursday, and about 40 people attended.
“It was great to see so many people come out to hear what the B.C. Conservatives’ have to say,” said Ian Tribes, constituency president.
