Foul play suspected in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in Polson Park last week

Foul play is suspected in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in Polson Park last week.

Vernon RCMP are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Jason Thomas Hardy, 42, whose body was discovered near the Vernon Lawn Bowling Club shortly before 10 a.m. on Aug. 26.

“Police are treating this as a criminal investigation,” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

Hardy was known to police who are not releasing details of how he died.

“After the autopsy was performed, it is believed there was foul play involved and investigators are not releasing anything further,” said Molendyk.

Investigators are turning to the public for help in the investigation, which is ongoing.

Police have no suspects in this matter.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity of  Polson Park during the early morning hours of August 26, and may have witnessed any suspicious activity, is asked to please contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
