The Vanderhoof RCMP detachment had a busy week Nov 22 – 29. They processed 92 files and held 5 prisoners. Highlight files:

Kenney Dam Rd.

Tues. Nov. 28 at 7:03 p.m. call to the scene of a collision on Kenny Dam Road. A male and female, dressed in dark clothing and under the influence of alcohol were walking across the road to speak with the occupants of a car parked in the middle of the road when another driver did not see them and struck the pedestrians who sustained non life threatening injuries to their lower extremities. Investigation is ongoing.

Burrard Ave.

Wed. Nov 28, at 4:30 p.m. report that two youths had been struck on Burrard Ave as they attempted to cross the road. Witnesses say that the individuals ran across three lanes of traffic to get from 7-11 towards CIBC, they failed to yield to cars and both were struck to the ground sustaining minor injuries, abrasions to the lower body and mild concussion. No charges pending.

On Sat. Nov. 25, at 8:30 a.m. report that a 570 Yamaha Exciter snowmobile was stolen from a residence on Burrard Ave. The snowmobile was not locked and secured. There were fresh snowmobile tracks out of the driveway, which led to Ferland Park, across CN railway tracks, but then the tracks were lost on the road.

Telegraph Rd.

Mon. Nov. 27, 11:00 a.m. call to a break and enter on Telegraph Rd. Intruder entered an unlocked workshop, no forced entry, and stole a 2011 Honda quad (value of $10,000), two Stihl chainsaws ($500 ea.), a wire stretcher tool and a KTM 350 dirtbike ($5,000). The complainant was able to provide serial numbers and said this was the third theft from his property within the last year. – with files from Sgt. Holley
