Free family activities will be taking place at the ACT for Family Day.
The Maple Ridge Festival of Light Society will be holding a lantern making workshop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshops are being held in preparation for the 9th annual Festival of Light that takes place on Feb. 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Haney Place Mall in Maple Ridge.
Juno award winner Charlotte Diamond and the Hug Bug Band will also be performing at the ACT for Family Day.
Diamond is a Canadian children’s singer who has recorded 12 albums including the JUNO winning 10 Carrot Diamond.
Her most popular songs include 4 Hugs a Day, I am a Pizza, Octopus, Each of Us Is a Flower and May There Always Be Sunshine.
Tickets for the concert are $15 each or a four pack for $50.
Charlotte Diamond and the Hug Bug Band will be performing at 1 p.m. on Feb. 13 at The ACT Arts Centre, 11944 Haney Place in Maple Ridge.

Swimming
The Maple Ridge Leisure Centre will be holding a free drop-in play gym and public swim from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The play gym will be facilitated by recreation staff with stations for parents to go through with their children.

Youth centre
The Greg Moore Youth Centre will be holding a parent and child skateboarding event featuring a short lesson followed by a skate session.
There will also be fun games and activities.
Participants must bring their own skateboards. Helmets are available on site.
Parent participation is required.
Children aged 6-years and up are welcome.
The event takes place from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greg Moore Youth Centre at 11925 Haney Place, beside the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre.

Pitt rec centre
The Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre will be having a day of free activities starting with yoga from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., parent and tot mini gym from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., family pickleball from noon to 2 p.m., family gym from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., followed by lounge time for table tennis and billiards.
Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre is located at 12027 Harris Rd. in Pitt Meadows.
The Pitt Meadows Arena will be having a free public skating event from 12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at 11435 Bonson Rd. in Pitt Meadows.
