Free bus service in Central Okanagan on municipal election day

Riders can get to the polls for free on Nov. 15 in Kelowna, Peachland, Lake Country and West Kelowna by taking public transit.

To ensure everyone has an opportunity to vote in the municipal election this Saturday, Kelowna Regional Transit is offering free bus service throughout its service area — Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland and Lake Country — on election day.

Free service will operate at no charge to all riders all day long on Nov.15.

“The free transit on election day gives citizens another option to get out and vote to support the democratic process. It gives them a convenient way of getting to and from the polls,” says Regional Programs Manager Jerry Dombowsky.

“If someone doesn’t have a way to the polls, we want to be sure to give them the opportunity to vote,” added Dombowsky.
