A disaster recovery workshop will be held this weekend (Feb. 3-4) at the Pioneer Complex in Williams Lake to help British Columbia ranchers and farmers manage their way through the recovery phase, following last summer’s record wildfires.
The wildfires saw producers, their land and their cattle on the front line of an unprecedented disaster.
The free workshop is open to all industry producers and will be hosted by David Pratt, one of the most sought-after speakers and experts on sustainable ranching in North America. Pratt will provide tools and tips on recovery.
The workshop will have an interactive format, so participants can work through issues and find practical solutions.
The workshop is being supported by the governments of Canada and British Columbia through Growing Forward 2 cost-shared programming, a five-year framework that co-ordinates federal, provincial and territorial agricultural policy and programs.
