Tax season is here, and the Sooke Region Volunteer Centre and Saint Vincent de Paul Society wants to help you with the taxman.
The community groups are offering a free tax preparation program for low-income people, youth, seniors and those with disabilities.
To be eligible, your total household annual income should be less than $30,000 for one person, $40,000 for two people, $42,500 for three people, $45,000 for four, and so on. (For each additional person, add $2,500 to the annual income)
Those who are self-employed, have employment expenses, have business or rental income expenses, have capital gain or losses, file for bankruptcy, or are completing a tax return for a deceased person are not eligible for the program.
The workshops are held Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sooke Region Volunteer Centre and Hope Centre until April 20.
