NORTHWESTERN ROADS remain slippery this morning and officials are urging caution after a night of freezing rain.
Travel advisories remain in effect east of Terrace on Hwy16 and extreme care is required if driving.
Freezing rain creates an extremely hazardous and slick pebble-like surface making it difficult to turn and stop a vehicle.
Slippery sections are reported west toward Prince Rupert on Hwy16 as well.
A travel advisory is also in effect on Hwy37 South between Terrace and Kitimat.
And extreme caution is being urged for those using the Nisga’a Highway leading into the Nass Valley and in the valley itself.
