While most of the country remains in deep-freeze, the recent cold spell here on the West Coast gave skaters and ice anglers a rare treat at Echo Lake where dozens of people enjoyed the big ice surface on Saturday. However, with the temperatures now above zero, ice conditions are likely poor and dangerous.
