An online fundraiser has been set up for the brothers of a young man who died in a crash on Yellow Point Road on the weekend.
Josh Vickers, 19, died when his car collided with a tree on the 2400 block of Yellow Point Road. The crash site was discovered by a motorist passing by Sunday morning.
Family friend Delaine Rangno, who organized a Facebook fundraiser page, said Vickers was one of five brothers whose father died last summer, leaving one of the older brothers in custody of his younger brothers.
Rangno said she has been helping gather and pass along donations for the boys since their father died.
“This is just horrific,” she said. “It’s not even been a year since their dad [died]. They’re just reeling.”
Money raised from the fundraiser will help pay for bills and funeral expenses. The fundraiser was set up Sunday and as of Monday afternoon, donations were almost two-thirds of the way to the fundraiser’s $5,000 goal. To learn more about the fundraiser or make a donation, click here.
