Funeral scheduled for Mission pastor killed in motorcycle crash

A man killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Saturday afternoon in Mission has been identified as a well-known local pastor.

Bill McFadden, 65, was the pastor of Christian Fellowship Centre/Grace Station, located in the old Legion building at the west end of First Avenue in downtown Mission. He has been involved in reaching out to people in all walks of life for 20 years in Mission. His family says “his life was centred around Christ and his passion was to show the world this great love.”

He was born in Salford, United Kingdom. He is survived by his wife Helen, who also pastors at the church, his brother in law Marshall his son Ezra and his daughter Jo-anne, along with Joanne’s husband Eric and their three children, Honor, Valor, and Selah. He was predeceased by his parents and only sister.

A GoFundMe account to assist his wife Helen has been set up. It is called Helping Hand for Helen McFadden.

The collision took place at about 2 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 17) in the 32100 block of Dewdney Trunk Road, near the Mission landfill.

A celebration of life service for McFadden will be held at the Alliance Church, 34203 Dewdney Trunk Rd., Mission on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m.
