Pancake breakfasts have long been a rodeo weekend tradition in Cloverdale. Held at businesses and community organizations throughout the town centre, the breakfasts bring people together to enjoy pancakes, coffee and other good grub before they head off to enjoy the rodeo and country fair.
Saturday’s pancake breakfast at the Cloverdale Legion, located at 17567 57 Ave., was packed with people. The line for pancakes went from one side of the building to the other, but the cooks at the griddle kept it flowing fast.

Most of the people in the room planned to stay for the 71st-annual rodeo parade, which started at 10 a.m.
The Legion will also host a breakfast on Sunday, May 21, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. They also have BBQ steak on Saturday and Sunday night at 7:30 p.m., and music and dancing both nights from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.
The Legion supports the Veterans Transition program, service dogs, Veterans housing, youth sports, cadet groups, scholarships and more. It has raised millions of dollars for the community in its 90-year history.
