Members of 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron kicked off the Mini World Cup – Comox Valley 2014 in spectacular fashion on Saturday morning, delivering the official game balls via a 2,000-foot skydiving jump, from a CC-115 Buffalo.

“It went very smoothly,” said SAR Tech leader, Master Warrant Officer Gavin Lee. “This was a great opportunity for us to spend a little time with our community – we all live in Comox – a great chance to show some of the kids from around British Columbia what we do and give them a little entertainment to open up their soccer event.”

A total of 104 teams are taking part in the event, which runs Saturday and Sunday, at the Mark Isfeld/Valley View soccer fields.
