A garbage truck collided with an SUV and pushed it straight through a busy Langley intersection on Monday afternoon.
Fraser Highway was closed westbound from 216th Street after the collision, which took place around 1:30 p.m.
According to witnesses on the scene, the green and white garbage truck was heading west, coming down from Hospital Hill, when it entered the intersection on a green light.
The grey SUV had either run a red light or gone through on a stale yellow heading north on 216th Street, according to people on the scene.
The truck T-boned the SUV and pushed it several car lengths down Fraser Highway before coming to a halt.
Langley Township firefighters and paramedics were on scene shortly after the impact, and were seen working to treat someone who was still inside the SUV.
One patient was transported to hospital with serious injuries, said Langley Township deputy fire chief Russ Jenkins.
