This year’s Summerland Action Fest Kids Fishing Derby will be more interesting.

This year’s Action Fest Kids Fishing Derby will be more interesting.

The derby, on Sunday June 5 and it goes from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The reason why it will be more interesting is because GO FISH BC will be releasing 2,000 catchable fish into Garnett Lake just before the fishing derby.

Once again, IGA Marketplace will be providing refreshments, hot dogs, pop and water.

The tournament will is free for all kids to join. There is no preregistration necessary and there are lots of prizes to be won.

The Action Festival Kids Fishing Derby is the oldest fishing derby in the province and is sponsored by The Sportsman’s Association.

To get to the Garnett Lake Dam, follow Jones Flat Road off Highway 97 to Garnett Valley Road, then follow Garnett Valley Road north to the dam.
