Gas prices in Parksville, Qualicum Beach hover near 165.9 cents per litre

Canadian national average rose from 131.4 on June 13 to 131.7 as of July 13

Motorists are paying the price for summer driving.

As of Tuesday (July 13) fuel prices in Parksville (regular gas) sit at 165.9 cents per litre, according to gasbuddy.com. Gas N Go, Petro-Canada, Mid-Island Co-op, Chevron and two Shell stations are all at that mark.

The same price can be seen in Errington at Church Road and the Alberni Highway at the Mid-Island Co-op and Qualicum Beach shows a similar average at three stations along the Island Highway – Shell, Super Save Gas Station and Chevron.

The Petro-Canada at Memorial Avenue and Harlech Road was at 167.9 cents per litre for July 13.

The average of 164.9 can be seen travelling north along Highway 19 from Lantzville to Parksville.

Throughout the City of Nanaimo, prices range from 164.9 to 165.9. Moving inland from Qualicum, the average increases slightly at Port Alberni with the majority of stations showing the price of 166.9 cents per litre.

Heading north out of Port Alberni along the Pacific Rim Highway, a Fas Gas Plus has priced its regular fuel at 161.9.

The lowest fuel price was seen in Courtenay at the Costco Gas Station for 154.9, though it does require a membership to the wholesaler.

The Canadian national average rose from 131.4 on June 13, to 131.7 as of July 13.
