Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP officers responded to a report of an alarm going off Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at the outside gas tanks at the Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club.

“They have had thefts from the tanks in the past,” said Gord Molendyk, RCMP detachment spokesperson

Officers attended and two men were arrested, one in the immediate area and one a short distance away near a parked vehicle.

The suspects, aged 48 and 38, are from Kelowna.

They were released from custody on a promise to appear in court at a later date to face charges of theft and possession of break-and-enter equipment.
