Motorists on the south side of Chilliwack may have noticed the new single-lane roundabouts under construction on Tyson Road.
Two related road closures are coming this weekend to allow the contractor, Martens Asphalt, to complete repaving on the roundabouts.
The first intersection closure is at Tyson and Keith Wilson, July 25 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The second closure is at Tyson and Watson, July 26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Detour routes for through traffic will be in place for these two days.
There is also a downloadable detour map available on the City of Chilliwack site.

Utility relocations of Hydro and Telus poles started in April and were completed in June. Substantial project completion is expected by September 15.
The roundabouts replace the four-way stops at those locations, and are expected to help improve the flow of traffic, and reduce bottleneck situations on the increasingly busy side of Chilliwack.
“Thank you for your understanding during these closures and through to project completion at the beginning of September,” reads the notification to residents online.
