Paul and Barb Morris started the Stomp’n Toy Run, also known as “Nicky’s Little Red Wagon”, in 2007 as a non-profit fund raiser in memory of Nicky Grummet.

Nicky Grummet was a very special boy, who at the age of five, began collecting bottles and cans so he could give the money to families less privileged. Sadly, Nicky passed away at the age of 15, only months after his father Colin passed from cancer. This event is held in honour of both Colin and Nicky.

As the single biggest fundraiser for the Barriere Food Bank, the donations in toys alone make Christmas so much better for many local families, and the donations in cash help keep the Food Bank shelves stocked when donations of food items are low.  At last year’s event, well over $750 in cash donations were received, as well as 100 lb. of food items and many, many toys.

This year’s Stomp’n Toy Run will be on Oct. 1, starting at 1 p.m. at the AG Foods parking lot.  It will be a day of riding, an evening of fun, with a great dinner, and excellent bands!  There will be two bands this year – Mike the Party Hog and The Kin.

“We hope that everyone will come out to help continue Nicky’s legacy in helping those less fortunate,” stated the organizers Paul and Barb Morris.
