What Glenwood Elementary may lack in numbers, they make up in heart.
Students at the little school held a coat drive for the homeless and within a short time, winter clothing of all sorts came flowing in.
In total, the PAC collected 62 winter coats, 84 hoodies and sweaters, snow pants, vests, scarves and gloves.
“It’s pretty impressive given we are a school of 136 students,” said PAC president Amy McDiarmid. The busy mom washed every item before boxing everything up and labeling each box.
On Monday, several Glenwood students and parents delivered the boxes to the Gateway of Hope.
Major James Hagglund was delighted with the school’s efforts.
“Thank you so much,” Hagglund said to the students.
“Your efforts are going to make a real difference in people’s lives.”
