Golden vaccine clinic moves to hospital

There are two weeks left to get a first dose before the implementation of the vaccine passport

Vaccinations at the curling rink wrapped up last week, with Golden’s vaccination clinic relcated to the health unit at the hospital. This is typicaly where the public health unit is located during normal times.

COVID vaccinations are available Monday through Friday, from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

If those hours don’t work, call the health unit and they will do their best to accomodate you, says Dr. Trina Larsen Soles.

Appointments are encouraged as it is a smaller space, but not required. If you show up, the doctors will make it happen, for both doses.

At least one dose of the vaccine will be required by Sept. 13 for certain non-essential services, such as ticket sporting events and other recreational spaces. That gives those who have not yet received a dose two weeks to do so.

Post-secondary students for on-campus housing must have one dose by Sept. 7.

Full vaccination is required by Oct. 24, which is defined as being seven days after your second dose.

Vaccine appointments can be booked online at getvaccinated.bc.ca, or over the phone by calling 1-833-838-2323.
