A record number of golfers participated in the annual Golf Fore the Cure fundraiser last Wednesday, Aug. 11.
The fundraiser was held at the Omineca Golf Course and seventy-five ladies took part in the fun event.
Most ladies wore pink and random trivia questions were set up on every tee-off area to encourage participation and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The clubhouse was very festive with bright pink tablecloths and many bunches of pink balloons decorated the main dining area. Raffle tables were set up and were laden with donated items for the silent auction.

“Once again, the generosity of the golfers and their friends was staggering and golfers had a lot of fun outdoing one another in the bidding for coveted items,” said Sally Makin, organizer.
The quiet raffle was another huge success and the ladies of the Vanderhoof Golfers Association would like to thank the Nechako Quilters Guild for the donation of a beautiful quilt every year.
The club would like to thank golf course owners Norm and Verla Avison for their continued support of this worthwhile cause.
The Association also recognizes the grounds-keeping crew and the clubhouse staff who do an amazing job during difficult times.
This year, the organizing committee raised approximately $4500 and this will be donated to the Oncology unit at St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof.
“Together, we can make a difference,” Makin added.
