A non-profit recovering from flooding is turning to golfers for fun.

The third annual Vernon Golf Spectacular is June 10 and part of the proceeds will go to the Kindale Developmental Association, which assists residents with developmental disabilities.

“Since the recent flooding of two of the Kindale locations in Armstrong, now more than ever funds raised from this

tournament are vital,” said Cindy Masters, event committee member.

The event at the Vernon Golf and Country Club will also support Special Olympics and specificially, team uniforms, equipment and travel to competitions.

“Partnership, passion, purpose and empowering ability are the driving forces behind the Vernon Golf Spectacular,” said Masters.

“Community coming together to make a difference is what it is all about.”

The event includes lunch, dinner and 18 holes of golf.

“We are looking for a few more teams. Do you like golfing? Do you like supporting two amazing local charities? Then we are looking for you,” said Masters.
