Good morning, Kelowna! There’s a lot of news to think about today. Let’s get started.
.) Have you been outside yet? If not, spoiler alert — it’s cold. Horribly so if you’re from the Lower Mainland, marginally if you’re from Alberta and just about normal if you’re a longtime Okanaganite. The high today will be -8 C and the overnight low is expected to be – 16 C.
.) Is there anything more well associated with the Okanagan than Ogopogo? Well, brace yourselves. He’s moving.
.) Taxes: Mo’ money is needed to run this city, apparently. This is especially the case if you like the idea of effective police and fire departments.
.) Hungry? Lacking inspiration? Good news, local chef Rod Butters is releasing a cookbook.
.) Finally, drugs are in the news today a lot. First there are new measures being implemented to stem the tide of overdose deaths in B.C. Next, the task force looking into legalized recreational marijuana has concluded its research and has a whole list of ideas on how to move forward. What do you think?
