Grand Forks RCMP not certain about Hillview Road accident cause, driver doesn’t remember

A 20-year-old driver from Maple Ridge, B.C. went 15 metres over an embankment near Hillview Road in Grand Forks, B.C.

On Monday, April 16 at 12:42 p.m., there was a report of a motor vehicle accident on Hillview Road in Grand Forks.

A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am crossed the road into the oncoming lane, rolled over and went 15 metres (50-feet) over the embankment.

The 20-year-old driver from Maple Ridge, B.C. received minor cuts and was walking around when the ambulance arrived. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for the minor injuries.

“At this point, police aren’t certain what occurred or what caused the accident,” Grand Forks RCMP’s Staff Sgt. Jim Harrison explained. “The individual stated he has no memory aside from waking up after the vehicle had rolled over.”

The driver was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road.
