Clearwater fire captains Wayne Wysoski (l) and Mike Chambers check for hot spots after a grass fire got away and burned some of the siding on a home near Scott Road. The blaze occurred about two weeks ago. Members of the fire department ask local residents to be careful when burning grass. Points to remember include always make sure you don’t burn more than you can handle, have water on hand, watch the winds, never turn your back on the fire, and never assume that it’s out (always double check). If your fire gets away and damages someone else’s property, you will be liable for costs. See fire department website for more information.
