Greater Nanaimo Early Years fair returning, virtually

Healthy start fair will take place via Zoom on Monday, Oct. 19

It isn’t always easy for parents to get a handle on the family resources that are out there, let alone in a pandemic. So the Greater Nanaimo Early Years Partnership has decided to go ahead with its Healthy Start Fairs this fall in a virtual setting.

“The gist of the fairs is for families to learn about all the free resources and services that are available to them during COVID, because so many of the organizations have changed their way of doing things or are offering different things,” said Amber Bruner, Early Years Healthy Start Fairs coordinator. “We’re just trying to streamline it and make it easier for families during this time, because it’s so hard.”

Registration is required via e-mail at nanaimoearlyyears@telus.net, with a $10 grocery gift card as incentive. The next fair will happen Monday, Oct. 19, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., via Zoom. Service providers will each speak for five minutes.

Families with children up to age six in the greater Nanaimo area can participate. Visit www.nanaimoearlyyears.org for info.
