Sonia Furstenau, Green Party MLA for Cowichan Valley, will be visiting the West Kootenay August 27 to 29.
According to a news release from the Nelson-Creston Greens, Furstenau will learn about local issues and answer questions about the workings of the the NDP-Green collaboration in Victoria.
“Sonia is one of the hardest working individuals I have met and speaking to her is motivating, uplifting, and provides me with hope that we can still create the change needed for a future that will benefit everyone,” said Kim Charlesworth, former local Green candidate.
Furstenau is one of three Green MLA’s in the B.C. Legislature and is deputy leader of the party.
She will make public appearances as follows:

Crawford Bay Hall, community forum, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Nelson Chamber of Commerce, 91 Baker St., youth reception, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Nelson Rod and Gun Club, dinner and an address on proportional representation, $15, doors open 5:30, talk at 7:00.
