Two people walked away from a wrecked sedan after the vehicle hit the curb near the intersection of Highway 3 and Greenwood St. Monday morning, Sept. 21.

Midway RCMP confirmed they were called to the scene outside Greenwood’s Kat’s Eye Gallery shortly before 7 a.m.

Mounties said the driver lost control of the car after a mechanical failure sent it hard against the curb along the eastbound lane.

Pictures taken an hour later showed a hulking sedan leaking fluid onto the road, which witnesses said was contained by fire fighters at the scene.

Police ruled out speed and drugs and alcohol and have not recommended criminal charges.

The car was towed off the road at the owner’s request, Mounties said.
