A grocery store in Nanaimo is advising the public after two employees were found to have COVID-19.

Thrifty Foods at Longwood Station reported on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6 that employees who worked most recently on Jan. 31 tested positive for COVID.

The store’s parent company Sobeys says it follows public health guidance to support workers impacted by the virus.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” notes Sobeys’ website. “Where required, we will communicate with customers who have shopped in the impacted location, with store signage, outlining our steps to manage the situation.”
