Guilty plea for thefts

Craig Narcisse John, 23, has pled guilty to a string of break and enter and theft charges that took place in the Blind Bay area, as well as some similar charges in the Chase area.

John was also charged with resisting a peace officer.

The eight Blind Bay break-ins took place Dec. 5 and 6 in the Highlands and Golf Course Drive areas. Items stolen included a television and some totes full of wine.

Also charged in the incidents was Peter Michael Arnouse, 31, of Lee Creek. In addition to charges relating to the break-ins, he faces impaired driving charges.

Salmon Arm RCMP reported responding to intruder alarms in the Blind Bay area when an officer observed a brown 1994 Ford pickup truck travelling down Golf Course Drive. The vehicle was stopped and two intoxicated men got out of the truck. An arrest and search revealed stolen property from the break-ins, a rifle and break-in tools.

A sentencing hearing for John, who has been held in custody since his arrest, is set for April 26.

The court was to receive a pre-sentence report on Arnouse on April 5.
