Police are seeking the public’s assistance as they continue to investigate a violent home invasion robbery that occurred just after 4:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Martin Avenue in Kelowna on June 12.

As initially reported, police had responded to the residence after witnesses called to report a possible break and enter in progress.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang and seeing two males fleeing the residence on foot.  Police initially located three occupants of the home suffering from a variety of injuries including the affects of having been bear sprayed.

The investigation that ensued led police to seize over 25 kg of marijuana, and it is believed the marijuana was the intended target of the robbery attempt.

The follow up investigation also led police to believe that the suspects had discharged a firearm inside the residence.  Later in the day a fourth occupant from the residence showed up at Kelowna General Hospital with injuries including a gunshot wound to his torso.

This male was treated for his injuries and released from hospital that evening.

Police continue to investigate this crime and are asking anyone who may have observed anything suspicious, or have further information, to contact Cpl. Haftner at the Kelowna RCMP, 250-762-3300 or anonymously Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by email at www.crimestoppers.net.
