Council gave the OK to several popular seasonal programs, Oak Bay’s Pumpkin Art on the Avenue, Trick or Treat on the Avenue and the Oak Bay Christmas Festival.
Hosted by the Oak Bay Business Improvement Association, Pumpkin Art on the Avenue will have Halloween pumpkins installed on up to 50 lamp standards along Oak Bay Avenue, up to 20 pumpkins on a tree on the front lawn of municipal hall and fill the green space behind municipal hall with the spooky seasonal carvings.
The BIA’s Trick or Treat on the Avenue will see Oak Bay Avenue closed between Wilmot Place and Monterey Avenue from 1 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31 to allow families to enjoy various Halloween activities.
The 16th annual Christmas Festival runs Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 and includes the Oak Bay light-up Sunday, Nov. 27, with a variety of family entertainment, food and activities, and the Parade of Lighted Trucks S
