Harley Davidson finds a home

Nanoose Bay resident bought five tickets to the Harley-Davidson raffle hosted by Langford and Sooke fire departments.

Roy Coles knows finally what it feels like to have the luck of the draw.

The Nanoose Bay resident bought five tickets to the Harley-Davidson raffle hosted by Langford and Sooke fire departments. Each ticket cost him $20 and they were thrown in a barrel along with all of the 2,878 tickets sold.

Other than Coles being presented with a 2012 Harley-Davidson FLD Switchback, Muscular Dystrophy Canada will be awarded more than $30,000 raised from the raffle.

“I think it’s very fortunate we get this opportunity to participate in a raffle like this and not only be the winner, but to have the proceeds to to help out a good charity,” Coles said.

The second place winner won the trailer that the motorcycle was towed on to various events over the summer.

Other than winning a meat draw, this is the first contest Coles has ever won, he said.
